When asked "Why do you ride Cycle for Life?" our riders responded:

"[My] nephew was treated at the Floating Hospital at nine months old and is now a healthy, happy third grader." -M. Brown

"Our daughter received a bone marrow transplant at Floating Hospital for Children in September of 2007. She was treated at the cancer clinic and received the greatest of care. During her stay and clinic visits, Child Life was always there to try and make things a little more fun for her. She never complained about her Boston visits. Although she did relapse in April of 2008 and has since lost her battle with AML, it was because of the great doctors at Floating that we had our Brave Little Bumblebee with us for another 8 months. She was very excited that we were going to do the Cycle for Life ride and she was going to be our Pedal Pal Match. Although she has left us, we know that she would want us to continue on and ride with all our might, just as she did for her last 18 months." -T. & D. Cordiero

"I started out because a friend's nephew was a patient, and now I can't stop!" -T. Feeney

"My daughter Alyssa was treated for leukemia over three years ago at Tufts Medical Center. She's now doing great and we can't thank the people at Tufts [Medical Center] enough for all the wonderful care!!!"
-T. Frazer

"I ride to support the Floating which so wonderfully treated my son Timothy."  -R. Hill

"It's all about the kids and their smiles in the face of adversity. They work so hard to be brave, so why can't I do my part to help those smiles turn into grins and laughter?" -S. Kao

"I ride because children shouldn't have to go through any of this. Kids need to be kids." -J. Leonard

"I am blessed to have two healthy kids and want to help families and kids who are not so blessed." -E. Lightbody

"I have appendiceal cancer and have been treated by Tufts Medical Center and want to give back to the hospital and kids." -B. Morrissey

"I love to ride and it makes me feel good to do it for a good cause!"
-D. Stone

"I ride to support Floating Hospital while doing something that I enjoy with friends." -D. Pirog

"I ride to support children with cancer while doing something that I love." -P. Rivers

"My son has been treated at Floating Hospital on several occasions, never for cancer thankfully, but for other major medical issues. The care he received at Floating was second to none. I want the children who are [at the Floating] to have the same experience I would hope my children would receive, and did receive when treated there."
