What is a Pedal Pal?

A Pedal Pal is a pediatric patient who is undergoing treatment or has been treated at the Floating Hospital for Children's Cancer Center and will directly benefit from the proceeds of Cycle for Life. We pair each Cycle for Life participant with a Pedal Pal to inspire and connect our riders with a real patient benefiting from Child Life Services right now. Through laughter, play and understanding, Child Life Specialists help children and their families cope with the effects of chronic illness and hospitalization. They offer support before, during and after medical procedures to put these young patients and their families at ease.

When you register to ride in the Cycle for Life, you will receive:

  • a picture of your assigned Pedal Pal
  • a fact sheet about your Pedal Pal's favorite things
  • a button with a picture and the name of your Pedal Pal to wear or place on your bike on event day

Ride for your Pal and the many other patients being treated at Floating Hospital for Children's Cancer Center!

Meet our Pedal Pals!
